Join the Carol Morgan School Team!The primary function of a French Teacher at Carol Morgan School is to teach and support students in developing proficiency in the French language through immersive, engaging, and standards-based instruction. The teacher fosters a deep understanding and appreciation of the French language and culture while adapting instruction to meet the needs of both native and non-native speakers in alignment with CMS curriculum standards.ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver dynamic French language instruction for students in Grades 6–12, aligned with school curriculum and international standards.Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse language levels and learning needs of students from various linguistic backgrounds.Use a communicative and inquiry-based approach to foster authentic language use in meaningful contexts.Integrate cultural content to promote global awareness and intercultural competence.Assess student learning through varied, formative, and summative assessments that inform instruction and provide timely feedback.Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development, interdisciplinary projects, and professional learning communities.Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports risk-taking, collaboration, and mutual respect.Participate actively in school life, including advisory programs, extracurricular activities, and school events.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in French, Language Education, or a related field.Teaching certification or qualification for secondary-level language instruction.Proficiency in both spoken and written French; strong command of English.Experience teaching middle and/or high school students.Commitment to student-centered learning and differentiation.Preferred:Master’s degree in Education or relevant discipline.Experience in international or bilingual school settings.Familiarity with inquiry-based, IB MYP/DP, or standards-based frameworks.Experience integrating technology into language instruction.Personal AttributesPassionate about languages, cultures, and global learning.Reflective, adaptable, and collaborative educator.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Committed to continuous professional growth and innovation in teaching.ScheduleMondays through Fridays from 7:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., (one day a week until 4:00 p.m. variable by school year).Apply today by sending your resume in English with the subject “HS/MS French Teacher” to: cmsrecruitment@cms.edu.do
