Leo Group is one of the UK’s leading specialists in animal by-products and renewable energy. We play a critical role in the food and agricultural industries collecting and processing material – which is converted into meals and oils for use in pet food, cosmetics, chemicals, and renewable fuel. As we continue to grow and develop our operations, we are looking for a Health & Safety Assistant who will work closely with internal and external contacts to co-ordinate and control the training needs throughout the site. This is a great opportunity for individuals that are hardworking and keen to be part of an existing business that continues to grow.Main Duties and Responsibilities:· Prepare Safety Operation Procedure (SOP)· Lead internal and external SOP trainings of all employees, determining training needs, and liaising with management team to ensure completion· Ensure all employees are trained on the relevant risks and SSOW.· Working closely with the site to establish procedures, standards, and systems· Provide Health & Safety data and statistics· Support in any construction Health and Safety regulations· Carry out safety inductions for contractors/visitors and new starters· Data entry into the system and placing evidence of training in employee’s file· Prepare PPE for new starters/visitors· Supporting HSEQ team· Any additional activities as required by the management teamPerson Specification:EssentialExperience in a similar roleGood level of English language; spoken & writtenExcellent communication skillsComputer literate in Microsoft office suiteAble to lead and motivate othersProblem solvingAbility to work with minimal supervisionFlexibility around working hoursTeam playerJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSchedule:Monday to FridayOvertimes when requiredFlexibility around working hoursEducation:GCSE or equivalent (preferred)Benefits:· On site parking· Company pensionJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: From £12.21 per hour
