Register to view all teaching opportunitiesRegisterRole SummaryThe Human Resources Coordinator supports the HR Manager with both staff care and administrative tasks to ensure smooth, compliant, and mission-aligned HR operations. This role handles documentation, onboarding, and day-to-day processes that keep OCSI’s people systems organized, caring, and effective.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Onboarding – Support the HR Manager with new staff recruitment, paperwork, and onboarding processes.Staff Care & Community – Plan and facilitate staff care initiatives, events and community-building activities that strengthen workplace morale.Housing & Relocation Support – Coordinate logistical and administrative support for staff housing, relocation, and transition needs.HR Administration – Maintain updated staff databases and assist the HR Manager with routine HR documentation and recordkeeping.Cross-Department Collaboration – Work with other departments to ensure smooth communication and coordinated administrative support.Staff Relations – Serve as a primary contact for staff welfare, questions, and feedback, promoting a caring and responsive HR environment.QualificationsMeet or exceed board-mandated qualifications (B2.2.1).Experience in administrative or HR support; bilingual work experience preferred.Strong organization, accuracy, and follow-through in documentation.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).Bilingual (English and Japanese) required.Committed to OCSI’s mission and Christian values.BenefitsMoving AllowanceFull-time hires from outside Okinawa may be eligible for a one-time relocation reimbursement to help with housing or other approved moving costs.AccommodationOn-campus housing may be provided, or assistance offered in finding off-campus accommodation for staff relocating to Okinawa.Number of Contract Days180 instructional days minimum and fewer than 200 teacher workdays.Starting Salary RangeModest salary and full benefits to include health insurance, pension, and a commuting allowance.Flights/TransportFlights for the employee and up to one dependent are covered by the school. A relocation allowance may be available for applicants hired from outside Okinawa.Dependent OpportunitiesFull-time positions include a tuition benefit for up to two dependent children.MedicalQualifying employees are enrolled in the Shigaku Kyousai (Private School Mutual Aid) health insurance and pension program.
