Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and enhancing HR programs that support employee engagement, growth, and long-term business development. The team works closely with both local and global leadership to anticipate future workforce needs and develop forward-looking initiatives.This role will primarily focus on benefits and payroll operations, employee support, and process improvement. It involves close collaboration with HR counterparts globally, local business stakeholders, and senior HR leaders on compensation and benefits initiatives. Additional HR-related responsibilities and project involvement may be assigned over time. The position reports to a senior HR leader overseeing benefits and payroll operations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day benefits and payroll operations in collaboration with HR team members (both local and global) and other business stakeholdersEnsure compliant, accurate, and efficient HR operations; monitor regulatory updates related to compensation, benefits, and payroll and take necessary actionMaintain and organize HR data and reporting; respond to business inquiries and audit requests in a timely mannerIdentify opportunities to streamline processes and drive operational improvementsCoordinate the occupational safety and health committee together with internal stakeholders and medical professionals; provide appropriate support to employees and business leadersHandle employee inquiries related to benefits and payroll with professionalismSupport senior HR leaders in strengthening relationships with business units, assisting in the development and implementation of HR programs and policiesProvide guidance on less complex HR matters; assist senior leaders in resolving mid- to high-risk HR issuesLead small to mid-size HR projects as needed; support administrative tasks and HR reporting requirementsRequired Skills & ExperienceHands-on experience in benefits and payroll operations (3+ years preferred), including employee relations and employee supportKnowledge of compensation and benefits frameworks; project experience is a plusStrong interest in staying current with HR-related regulations and market trendsSolid understanding of general HR operationsGrowth mindset: proactive, adaptable, resilient, organized, and accountable; open to new ideas and approachesStrong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work both independently and collaborativelyBusiness- and solutions-oriented thinking with an analytical approach to improving efficiencyAbility to manage multiple priorities under pressure in a matrixed organizationProblem-solving skills with the ability to propose practical solutions and lead small to mid-size initiativesWillingness to take on new responsibilities and expand scope over timeBusiness-level fluency in both Japanese and English (verbal and written)Proficiency with HRIS (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)High integrity and professionalism when handling confidential employee dataStrong attention to detail and accuracy in managing HR-related informationWorkplace EnvironmentThe organization fosters an inclusive environment where individuals are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work.
