As a Monitoring and Enforcement Officer, you will provide a front-line service which investigates possible breaches of the rules and standards in the District Plan and RMA. We are looking to hear from applicants from either Officer or Intermediate Officer levels, depending on skills and experience.
To be successful, you will have the ability to help people navigate the law and ensure our requirements are met under the RMA. In addition, you will proactively monitor land use consent approvals for compliance (with conditions and approved plans), and where appropriate investigate and advise on compliance with subdivision consents. We have a passionate team of planners and compliance officers ensuring we have the best possible environmental outcomes for our city.
About YouThis is a great role if you are passionate about the application of the Resource Management Act and related regulatory areas and enjoy applying your knowledge to help people with legal compliance and regulatory outcomes. The Successful Applicant Will PossessTertiary qualification and experience in the administration of the Resource Management Act, surveying, architecture, building, science, legal or related areas. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building abilities. Strong writing abilities and sound investigation skills. A positive approach to assisting the public and strong people skills. The ability to understand and interpret building plans and legal documents.
