IT AdministratorPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Network and Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This is a senior-level role designed for a candidate who can independently assess, manage, and optimize our network and server infrastructure with minimal onboarding or peer involvement. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise networking, server architecture, and firewall configurations. This position is not entry-level and does not include training—we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. Key Responsibilities· Independently assess and document existing network topology and server configurations.
· Manage and maintain firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure. · Administer Windows servers, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services. · Monitor system performance and implement proactive solutions to ensure uptime and security. · Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and patching cycles. · Maintain and enforce security policies, including firewall rules and endpoint protection. · Collaborate with leadership to recommend improvements and future-proofing strategies. · Oversee Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint. · Perform system backups, patching, and disaster recovery testing. · Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated helpdesk tickets. · Manage IT asset inventory and documentation. · Coordinate with vendors for procurement and service delivery.
· Assist with VOIP systems, surveillance upgrades, and technology refreshes. Required Qualifications· 5+ years of experience in network and systems administration in a multi-site environment. · Proven ability to reverse-engineer and document existing infrastructure with minimal guidance. · Expert-level knowledge of: - Network protocols and routing (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs) - Firewall configuration and management - Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) - Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure)· Strong scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, etc. ) a plus. · Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
