ForestrySA is now looking to appoint a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to contribute strategic and tactical expertise.
The COO will manage the everyday outputs and performance of these functions and is responsible for the localised resolution of all associated operational matters while fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. As a member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this role is crucial to implementing the organisation’s strategy, safeguarding operational excellence and driving long-term sustainability. Candidates should have a proven track record in senior management, along with strong strategic leadership skills, critical thinking abilities and commercial nous. An appropriate tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Forestry, Economics or a related field is required.
With proven experience in high level and complex negotiations, the ideal candidate will also possess experience in challenging commercial operational environments. The position will be primarily based at ForestrySA’s Head Office in the scenic Kuitpo Forest, with flexible working arrangements considered. The successful candidate will be offered a full-time role for an initial three year contracted period.
