South Australian Arid Lands Landscape BoardJob reference: 688565Location: 5700 - PORT AUGUSTAJob status: Long Term ContractEligibility: Open to EveryoneThe SA Arid Lands Landscape Board is looking for a thoughtful, adaptable and critical thinker who can lean into complexity, legislation and take on the challenges of compliance, authorised under the Landscape Act of South Australia 2019. In this role, you'll lead compliance administration and investigations related to pest plants and animals, land, and water management. You'll work closely with our Water, Ecology and Biosecurity teams, government partners, and stakeholders, benefiting from a cross-regional network that supports shared learning and problem-solving.
Our compliance approach emphasises education, awareness, outreach, and technical support, with enforcement as a last resort. While much of the role focuses on fostering cooperation and understanding, there are times when stronger compliance and enforcement actions are necessary. The Compliance Officer role will initially be offered on a two year term basis, with possibility of extension.
