If you are enthusiastic about nurturing learners and contributing to our vibrant community, please review the job description below for details.STATEMENT OF DUTIESBasic DutiesThe IBDP Standard Level Math Teacher supports the mission and philosophy of Rabat American School (RAS) by fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and belonging within a collaborative learning environment. This educator delivers engaging, inquiry-based mathematics instruction at the IBDP Standard Level, while also contributing to the Integrated Math program in grades 8–10. The teacher promotes authentic, real-world learning experiences that empower students to take action as global learners.Duties & Responsibilities Instructional Delivery & CurriculumPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the RAS curriculum and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme standards.Implement a range of instructional strategies and assessments that support diverse learning styles and promote conceptual understanding.Integrate technology effectively to enhance learning and develop student competencies in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.Participate in curriculum development and collaborative planning with colleagues to ensure program coherence and progression.Assessment & Student SupportDesign and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with IBDP and school standards.Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to guide improvement and achievement.Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.Serve as an Advisory teacher, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional development.Communication & Community EngagementMaintain regular, positive communication with parents through conferences, reports, newsletters, emails, and web pages.Encourage parent involvement in school activities and classroom learning.Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and the wider RAS community to maintain a professional, inclusive climate.Professional ResponsibilitiesParticipate actively in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development sessions.Contribute to the school’s After-School Activities (ASA) program by leading at least one session annually.Engage in the teacher evaluation process and demonstrate commitment to continuous professional growth.Supervise students during non-classroom times as assigned.Perform additional duties as outlined in the RAS Faculty Handbook or assigned by administration.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDBachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).Valid teaching credential or certification.Minimum of two years of successful secondary-level teaching experience (international experience preferred).Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of the IBDP Mathematics curriculum and inquiry-based learning methodologies.Ability to design differentiated lessons that accommodate diverse learners.Proficiency in technology integration for teaching and assessment.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment aligned with the school’s mission.Supervisory RelationshipThe teacher reports to the Secondary School Principal.Supervisory ControlsThe teacher doesn’t supervise any RAS employees.BENEFITS AND ALLOWANCESAn attractive package is offered, including health insurance coverage.HOW TO APPLYPlease send your resume and a cover letter to staffing@ras.ma with the subject line: “Secondary School IBDP Standard Level Math Teacher”.
