IBEX, a Business Process Outsourcing call center with locations globally, is looking for a Senior Accountant to be an integral part of the Finance team.
The Senior Accountant will support Honduras financial matters as well as build relationships across all levels of the organization, and must maintain compliance with accounting standards and provide valuable insights to support our business decisions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare monthly financial statements in Lempiras. As a Senior Accountant, you will review accounting transactions in US Dollars and generate monthly financial reports in Lempiras, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Preparation of accounting books for the Municipal Mayor's Office of Tegucigalpa. Prepare tax returns.
You will ensure that all tax obligations are met by preparing accurate tax returns and keeping up-to-date with tax regulations. When required, you will also support to file the tax returns. Track and reconcile bank statements. Issue VAT exonerations, withholding taxes vouchers to vendors. Prepare Exempts Purchase Orders (OCE) for daily invoices. Process payments to vendors and employee reimbursements. Monitor and provide guidance to vendors and employees on status of invoice and check request payments. In-person payments at banks for the Government and other required if needed. In charge of monthly payments for Social Security (IHSS), RAP, INFOP.
Support in the preparation of financial reporting to relevant entities such as Central Bank of Honduras, Finance Secretary, Municipality, among others. Provide support to ensure compliance with government regulations and guidelines. Support in the review and control of fixed assets in accordance with the Free Zones Law. If required, supports activities related to payroll process. Weekly distribution of severance checks and bi-weekly distribution of payroll checks. Provide support in quarterly and annual audits. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
CPA certification is desired+3 years ‘experience as Senior Accountant or similar roleBusiness process outsourcing (BPO) experience preferred but not required. SKILLS/ABILITIES Understanding and knowledge in accounting principles, including GAAP and IFRS. Strong technical aptitude and expertise including advanced Excel. Excellent mathematical skills. Understanding of internal controls. Strong understanding of data privacy standards. Solid report analysis and analytical skills. Attention to details. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain high confidentiality. Ability to collect and interpret data, including data analysis and management. Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Proficiency in English language is desired but noy required.
