Delivering and executing robust plans for year-on-year performance. Work closely with category teams to identify opportunities for link and leverage. Building strong robust contracts with suppliers that perform all PHINIA targets. Drive collaboration with business partners to achieve ongoing competitiveness with their business strategy. Ensure activities are performed with high integrity and in compliance with Global, Divisional and Site procedures and encourage Process and Systems ImprovementsFacilitate cross functional participation in all cost down initiatives including idea generation in the best cost spares and new equipment. Execute commodity strategy including growing business with partner suppliers and right-sizing supply base where necessaryEstablish long-term agreements where feasible to reduce transactional work and obtain optimal quality, service, price and other termsPartnering with stakeholders within the respective regions and functions in the global procurement for targets achievementWhat We’re Looking ForAutonomous purchasing professional who can lead new sourcing projects in compliance with PHINIA Policies and Values, Agility to negotiate within an international business environmentPHINIA is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Plant Buyer for Indirect Purchasing. This person will be responsible for sourcing all goods and services for the business at the best cost possible, negotiating any commercial purchase and to partner with all functional areas (i.e.IT, HR, Marketing, B&C, Facilities, Operational supplies, Operational services)MandatoryExperience in managing suppliers and achieving joint goals. Commercially astute. 3+ years relevant experience in related automotive / engineering environment. Proven record in driving cost improvement initiatives. Good communication skills and ability to work in teams. Able to work under pressure and respect deadlines when required. DesirableBe able to work, present and communicate within all areas of the organization from shop floor to management. An appreciation of SAP and similar systems.
