Job Description

Nextern is seeking an Industrial Engineer specializing in the medical device sector to enhance our operational efficiency and streamline production processes. This role involves evaluating and designing workflows, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and implementing improvements to maximize productivity while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess both technical and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with cross-functional teams and contributing to innovative solutions.RequirementsResponsibilities:Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costsDevelop workflow diagrams and process maps to identify bottlenecks and implement solutionsEnsure that all engineering practices comply with industry standards and regulationsCollaborate with design and manufacturing teams to integrate new technologies and methodologiesConduct time studies and process evaluations to inform resource allocation and investment decisionsLead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projectsTrain and mentor production staff on process improvements and best practicesContribute to cross-functional project teams focused on product development and process innovationRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in process engineering, specifically within the medical device industryFamiliarity with industry regulations, including FDA and ISO standardsStrong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis and process improvement methodologiesExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesFluent in English; bilingual skills are a plusProficiency in CAD software and manufacturing systemsStrong project management skills and experience working in fast-paced environmentsPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout manufacturing areas for extended periods; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; manual dexterity for component handling; visual acuity for reading technical drawingsWork Environment: Controlled or cleanroom manufacturing environment requiring gowning; exposure to production machinery and moderate noise; occasional travel (up to 10%)Safety Requirements: Comply with company and regulatory safety standards, participate in safety programs, and use designated PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and cleanroom attireBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Short Term & Long Term DisabilityTraining & DevelopmentFree Food & SnacksWellness ResourcesSalary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 annuallyPlease note the salary information shown is a general guideline only.
