Industrial/Product Designer

Our Global Design & Product Innovation team defines the industrial design language, user experience, and physical product architecture of our robots. We are a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on building real products that exist in—and interact with—the real world.The Role:We are seeking a Industrial/Product Designer to support the full development cycle of our robotic platforms—from early concept exploration to prototyping and field validation in live deployments. You will help translate functional and technical requirements into thoughtful, user-centered, manufacturable product solutions. This role is hands-on and cross-functional: you will collaborate closely with Hardware, Robotics, Software, and Business teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & DevelopmentConduct user research, observation, and field testing to inform product decisions.Develop physical and interactive design solutions aligned with Robot.com’s visual and functional design guidelines.Create prototypes and support CMF (Color, Material & Finish) exploration and iterative refinement.Provide mechanical design support and participate in conceptual and functional prototyping.Contribute manufacturing and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) input to guide feasibility and production planning.Collaboration & ExecutionWork closely with cross-functional teams, including Hardware & Manufacturing, Robotics & AI, Product, and Leadership.Support internal and external design reviews and validation sessions.Document design rationale and communicate clearly across teams and stakeholders.Contribute design support for new deployment formats and emerging business lines.AdaptabilityWork in testing environments across labs, field sites, and live operational deployments.Respond quickly to learnings and iterate solutions in short cycles.Travel occasionally for testing, supplier visits, and deployment support (as needed).QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Product Engineering, or related field.ExperienceExperience designing physical products, ideally with exposure to hardware, robotics, or consumer electronics.Understanding of manufacturing processes, CMF development, and DFM principles.Experience participating in prototyping, iterative design cycles, and usability testing.SkillsStrong aesthetic sensibility and design intuition.Ability to communicate concepts clearly through sketches, 3D models, and prototypes.Familiarity with:Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)Fusion 360 or SolidWorksBlender (or equivalent 3D visualization tools)Digital sketching tools (e.g., Procreate)Intermediate to advanced English communication skills.AttributesProactive, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity.Hands-on maker mindset with strong attention to detail.Collaborative and effective communicator.Ability to balance creativity with technical feasibility.Why Join Robot.com?Work at the forefront of robotics and real-world autonomous systems.Influence design direction across global deployments.Strong opportunities for growth and multidisciplinary learning.Competitive compensation package, including salary and equity.Dynamic environment surrounded by passionate, mission-driven teams.
