Information Security Engineer – Akamai WAFThe Role:We are looking for an Information Security Engineer with a strong passion for security-at-scale to join our growing team.The Information Security Engineer will play a key role in ensuring our services, applications, systems, and websites are protected to the highest security standards. A core responsibility of this role is the administration of Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Bot Management systems. Additional responsibilities include system hardening, patching, and supporting the organization’s overall security posture.You will be working in a challenging, dynamic, and inspiring environment alongside talented colleagues and state-of-the-art technologies.The main responsibilities of the position include:Administer and manage WAF and Bot Management systemsPerform system hardening and ensure secure data handling during transmission, storage, and processingImplement and manage access controls, including Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions, to ensure secure and compliant access to critical systemsReview and enforce application control policies, ensuring only authorized software is executed and that software usage complies with organizational security standardsReview security violations and recommend procedures to prevent recurrenceProvide support to end users on security-related issuesParticipate in incident managementMain requirements:BSc/MSc in information security or a related fieldMinimum 3 years of experience in Information Security, with at least 1 year of hands-on experience with Akamai security products.Practical experience with Akamai WAF, BMP, and other related toolsStrong security expertise in Windows, Linux, virtualization environments and databases.Familiarity with access control mechanisms, such as Privileged Access Management (PAM)Experience in implementing and managing application control policies and reviewing software execution to ensure compliance with organizational security standardsSolid understanding of networking and communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS, HTTP, HTTPS)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesAbility to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving security challengesThe following will be considered an advantage: Akamai certifications or completed coursesExperience with AWS Cloud SecurityBenefit from: Attractive remuneration packagePrivate health insuranceCorporate pension fundIntellectually stimulating work environmentContinuous personal development and international training opportunitiesThe Hiring Experience: What Awaits You Let’s Connect – Intro Chat with Talent AcquisitionShow Your Skills – Online Technical ChallengeFinal Connection – Final InterviewType of employment: Full timeLocation: CyprusPlease visit our website www.xm.com/careers to submit your online application for this position.All applications will be treated with strict confidentiality!
