Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer

Job Title: IT Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Portsmouth NHDuration: 12 MonthsShift: M-FHybrid arrangement — three days onsite and two days remote.Position Overview:The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for planning and designing the services and solutions in collaboration with the service provider and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with Standards, Architecture, quality and security requirements. The focus of the role will be IT Infrastructure in the OT context (shopfloor, building management systems, laboratory systems, etc.).This position operates within the IT Infrastructure function and serves as a technical engineer spanning various infrastructure domains. As a member of the Global Infrastructure team, this role offers support to all Client sites.The position ensures service provider quality by managing relevant services through definition of KPIs, SLAs and associated measurements and reporting.Furthermore, the role holder ensures that good IT practices, including good Documentation practices, IT security and change management practices are constantly adhered to.Communication and stakeholder management skillsFluent in EnglishUniversity degree actual or working styleAbility to define, select, implement and manage standards and associated services.Ability to manage service provider, including definition of KPIs, measuring service quality and outcomesAbility to contribute to architecture blueprints, in e.g. the OT areaAbility to contribute to appropriate documentation, including e.g. processes, configuration documents, designs.Hands on experience in multiple technologies and infrastructure areas, such as:o Defining service and technical solution requirementso Cisco switches and Wireless controllerso Hypervisors, such as Vsphere and AHVo Infrastructure and testing as a Code knowledge highly desired (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Podman)o Senior Linux knowledge is highly desiredo Senior Windows Server knowledge is a musto Automation of infrastructure taskso Active Directoryo Backup technologies, ideally Veeam and Acroniso Disaster recoveryo PowerShell/Bash skillso Basic Citrix and Windows Remote Desktop Services skillso Storage and File serviceso Database knowledge is highly desiredStrong customer service ethicCan drive cultural and technological disruptionAbility to perform cross technical Root cause analysis and define associated measures.Able to work independently and make educated decisions to provide quick solutions to problemsAbility to prioritize and quickly resolve issuesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective prioritization and project management skillsAbility to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the momentDeep technical infrastructure knowledgeUnderstand ITIL model and metrics for Service Delivery
