Who We AreBy joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.What You’ll Be DoingDesigning and managing TAXUD’s overall IT infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and alignment with EC guidelinesDesigning and planning IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network components, and data centers.Developing architecture blueprints that meet business needs and growth requirements.Ensuring infrastructure scalability, optimizing resource allocation and utilization.Implementing and enforcing EC security guidelines, including access controls and encryption.Evaluating and integrating virtualization technologies and cloud solutions.Developing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, including redundancy and failover mechanisms.Implementing automation tools and scripting languages for streamlined infrastructure management.Designing and managing secure network architecture, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.Collaborating with IT teams to ensure seamless operations and alignment with strategic goals.Staying updated on emerging technologies and recommending infrastructure upgrades or new solutions.What You’ll Bring AlongBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferredMinimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure design and architecture, focusing on large-scale projects.TOGAF or Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) certification.Strong understanding of servers, storage, and network infrastructure.Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware.In-depth knowledge of IT security principles, including identity management and encryption.Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).Strong networking expertise, including protocols and security best practices.Familiarity with cloud integration and cloud-based infrastructure solutions.Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with various stakeholders.Proven project management experience in infrastructure planning and execution.Preferred Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP); Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP); Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)Excellent command of both spoken and written English
