Position SummaryUnder direct supervision and working within a cage or secured area, a Controlled Substance Processor in warehouse operations is responsible for processing returned/recalled pharmaceuticals on behalf of a retailer or manufacturer. The shipment received for processing may contain both controlled substance items and non-controlled items. The Controlled Substance Processor is responsible for accurately and efficiently identifying the items and ensuring they are processed appropriately.
The Controlled Substance Processor position requires high attention to detail and ability to operate technology such as barcode scanners, digital scales, software applications, and touch screen computers and the ability read, understand and follow standard operating procedures specific to this position.
Primary AccountabilitiesEfficiently and accurately capture item information, using scanning equipment, for input of information into computerized systemsDetermine whether the item is a non-controlled substance, a Class 2 (CII) substance or a Class 3-5 (CIII-V) substance for sorting purposesVisually identify and verify key product information, then count, measure or weigh the item and enter information into computerized systemsFor Class 2 (CII) items, complete form 222 within the system, noting the quantity and date processedSort scanned items into appropriate container locationsInspect condition of product and prepare for disposition in accordance with client contract termsAlways maintain a clean and orderly workstation and areaAdditional ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsRequired QualificationsHigh School diploma (or its equivalent) required1-3 years minimum of two year’s work experience in a warehouse or production job; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this position requiredLegally authorized to work in the U.

The Hiring Pay Rate For This Position Is$17. 85Incremental pay increase are provided at 3 months and 12 months of employment. This is a non-exempt, hourly role eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state laws.
