PurposeThe purpose of the Inside Sales Representative is to generate new sales through data collection, lead generation, prospecting, data organization, data analysis, and phone contact. Phone calls will be aimed at fact collection, appointment setting, and closing sales. The objective of the role is to expand the reach of the company sales force by initiating contact with prospective customers and selling them plastic resin. The Inside Sales Representative will be looked upon as a valuable resource to help grow sales.Areas of Responsibility / TasksPerformance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.Essential FunctionsResponsible for qualifying all incoming new customer sales lead opportunities received through the company website and 800 number in a timely mannerResponsible for handling the sales and customer service functions for specific customers approved by the company Management TeamWork closely with the company Regional Commercial Directors during the qualification process to ensure proper account manager assignmentBased on input from the company Regional Commercial Directors may act as primary salesperson for specific accountsWork with the company Technical Service Team for grade recommendations and selection as neededInteracts with the company Buyer and transportation group to gain necessary information for quoting purposesForm and maintain strong working relationships with all internal departmentsAll Other Duties as AssignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNot ApplicableCompetencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA)To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the sales of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) is required.Experience in distribution and supply chain preferred.Licenses / Certifications: Valid driver’s license – requiredLanguage: Proficiency in English required. Bi-Lingual – Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.Work Environment / ConditionsMust be adaptable to work in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.This position is a hybrid in-office and/or work-from-home rolePhysical Requirements / DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to communicate verbally, read, and comprehend information, type on a consistent and daily basis.Push, pull, and lift to 40lbs on a weekly basis.While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane, or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting, and standing for long and short periods of time.Ability to setup desk equipment including setting up equipment on top of desks and connecting cables and power cords under desk (requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling).
