Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.Job SummarySupports the operations of the Human Research Protections Program at a growing research university by assisting in the oversight of research involving human participants. Provides administrative and operational support to department leadership through managing large volume protocol submissions, responding to departmental communications, and facilitating researcher training and outreach. Provides guidance to users through the IRB review process and protocol submission system. This role is designed to build knowledge and familiarity with regulations and systems governing human subjects research while contributing to the efficient functioning of the office.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops knowledge of human subject¿s research regulations through professional development and mentoring Reviews exempt studies as assigned by IRB office leadership Assists with the administration of expedited study reviews under the direction of department leadership Supports full board study reviews as directed leadership Contributes to the IRB reliance process as assigned Routes IRB inquiries to appropriate personnel, with limited responsibility for addressing researcher or customer questions Provides administrative support, including document management and other office functions as needed Assists with communications with researchers (e.g., courtesy notifications) and supports outreach activities as assigned Participates in quality assessment and improvement initiatives under the guidance of leadership Participates with post-approval monitoring program activities as directed Participates in investigations of potential noncompliance with human subject¿s research regulations as assigned Coordinates logistics and follow-up for IRB committee meetings as assigned Supports the delivery of researcher training programs in alignment with leadership directivesRequired QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher educationRequired ExperienceOne (1) year of related experiencePreferred QualificationsPreferred Educational QualificationsAdvanced degree from an accredited institution of higher educationProposed SalaryThe midpoint of the salary range is $57,300.
