Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation & ICSS Commissioning Engineer to support the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for a large onshore production facility in Uganda. The role will ensure all instrumentation, control, and safety systems are installed, tested, and handed over in full compliance with project specifications, international standards, and operational requirements.This position is critical to ensuring system readiness and seamless transition to production operations, with particular focus on ICSS, ESD, PSD, and F&G systems.What’s On Offer12-month renewable contract with long-term potential.Rotational assignment 28 days on / 28 days off in Uganda.USD day rate, paid per day worked.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine subsystem boundaries and commissioning packages for instrumentation and ICSS scopes.Review and approve contractor commissioning methods, plans, and procedures.Monitor contractor readiness and progress for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.Witness FATs, iFATs, and SATs for relevant instrumentation and control systems.Supervise and verify pre-commissioning and commissioning execution, ensuring compliance with HSE and quality standards.Manage punch list control, verification, and closure for assigned systems.Support and oversee the handover of systems and documentation to operations.Liaise closely with operations teams during commissioning and start-up phases.Ensure software licenses, passwords, and access keys are properly secured and transferred during handover.Contribute to training and mentoring of local operations and maintenance personnel.Maintain strong cyber security awareness for all control systems.Candidate ProfileDegree or diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.Minimum 8 years’ experience in instrumentation and ICSS commissioning in the oil & gas industry.Strong background in ICSS, ESD, PSD, and F&G systems commissioning and integration.Fully conversant with OPERCOM methodology and ICAPS database management.Experience in both pre-commissioning and operational handover for large process plants.Excellent understanding of instrumentation and control standards and best practices.Proven ability to supervise and coordinate contractors across multiple disciplines.Strong commitment to HSE and operational integrity.Fluent in English (spoken and written).If you are interested, please apply
