It’s an opportunity to apply your insurance background in a new context, with real influence and meaningful outcomes.Role Description:We're looking for an experienced Insurance Risk Analyst who will help lead the risk coordination for all our protection products globally to ensure they scale safely, consistently, and in line with risk appetite. They will act as the day-to-day owner of cross-functional risk management to enable the safe scaling and running of protection products including governance and exposure tracking.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Scaling SupportAct as the embedded risk lead for new product launches and commercial scalingTranslate legal, tax, and compliance requirements into actionable product rules and flowsCoordinate go-to-market risk deliverables (e.g. eligibility, pricing guardrails, control steps)Identify and pre-empt risks that could delay launches or create exposureCross-Functional OwnershipServe as the primary Risk liaison across Commercial, Product, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and OpsDrive alignment on approvals, risk ownership, escalation paths, and defensible decision-makingSupport international expansion and partner onboarding from a risk and compliance perspectiveEnsure operational processes reflect risk decisions and are traceable across systems and teamsProduct Risk OversightOwn the implementation of product-level risk appetite, limits, and monitoring logicMaintain visibility of in-life exposure, control performance, and risk indicatorsFlag emerging risks and coordinate mitigations or escalations where neededRepresent the second line in ongoing product operations and change processesGovernance & MonitoringMaintain risk appetite statements, thresholds, and control mapsTrack key risk metrics (claims, cancellations, limits) and surface variances or breachesLead and document incident reviews, remediation actions, and post-launch health checksSupport risk governance forums and working groups with structured inputs and updatesReporting & DocumentationPrepare inputs for dashboards, steering packs, and audit requestsMaintain a traceable log of product changes, risk sign-offs, and decisionsEnsure governance materials (SLAs, eligibility, pricing assumptions) are complete and currentContribute to scalable risk documentation practices for future product linesReinsurance & Capital StrategySupport the Insurance Risk Manager in the design and implementation of risk transfer strategyIncludes engagement with reinsurance brokers, reinsurers and internal stakeholders such as financeStakeholder EngagementSupport team interactions with key functions such as Product, Finance, Legal, and ComplianceHelp prepare inputs for stakeholder updates, working sessions, and governance forumsAssist in summarising risk findings, decisions, and open issues for internal communicationsBuild confidence engaging with cross-functional teams through clear, well-prepared contributionsLearning & GrowthBuild core skills in risk analysis, exposure monitoring, and product governanceContribute to well-scoped workstreams under the guidance of more senior team membersGain exposure to product launches, risk reviews, and cross-functional coordinationLearn from a supportive team environment with access to hands-on coaching and development opportunitiesRequirements Of Special Knowledge/skillsRisk ManagementExposure to reinsurance or risk financing is a plusSupports data prep and research for safe scaling and monitoringProcess & GovernanceDetail-oriented; supports documentation and QAAssists in maintaining control logs and governance recordsCross-Market ExposureInterest in learning global market practicesAble to research and summarise differences in local normsCommunication & InfluenceComfortable presenting to risk and commercial audiencesDeveloping confidence in stakeholder interactions and narrative buildingOwnership & ImpactTakes initiative within defined workstreamsSeeks ownership of distinct deliverables and development opportunitiesMindset & BehavioursCurious, eager to grow, and proactive in upskillingBrings energy and structure to problem-solvingComfortable in a scaling, fast-evolving teamEducation and Knowledge4- 7 years in an analytical role, ideally in insurance, compliance or risk modellingExperience with protection, assistance or high-volume claim products a plusBachelor's degreeBenefits & Perks - Global Impact, Personal Relevance:Booking.com’s total rewards philosophy is not only about compensation but also about benefits.
