Meta is seeking an Experience Interaction/UX Sound Designer to join our experience Creative Audio team. Our mission is to create meaningful experiences that enhance human connection through the power of audio. Your focus will be on defining audio and haptics experiences for Meta’s Family of Apps (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Threads and MetaAI). You will partner with a team of Interaction Sound Designers who are responsible for helping build brand recognition, and enhance the overall brand experiences across all of our products. As an Interaction Sound Designer, you'll be part of a team of highly skilled creatives with a broad range of experienced backgrounds and industries who are dedicated to crafting unique audio experiences. You'll have access to state-of-the-art recording facilities at our internal studios. The role combines functional sound design thinking and execution with proven experience breaking new ground, including new and virtual mediums. You will be involved in all aspects of the sound design process, from concept to iteration and refinement, to preparing and implementing assets, to testing performance and approving designs for public release. If you're ready to join a team that's pushing the boundaries of sonic innovation, apply now to become an Interaction Sound Designer at Meta!Interaction/UX Sound Designer - Family of Apps Responsibilities:Lead and drive complex interaction sound design + haptic projects through completionCraft unique, memorable, and landmark sonic experiences for the 3+ billion people who use Meta technologiesUse your proven understanding of interaction sound design to define and distill broad concepts into actionable deliverablesContribute to the development of sound design systems by establishing audio design standards, guidelines, and best practices, while being one of the go-to experts for all things sound, including design standards, best practices, and implementation guidelinesAct as a source of truth for all things sound including sound design, design standards, best practices, and implementation guidelinesExecute in a time-sensitive and highly fluid environmentCollaborate closely with other sound designers to ensure systems alignment across productsCollaborate closely with all partners to determine scope of work, planning and execution of sound design and implementationInfluence key business decisions within the organization and product/ business area, leveraging clear data-driven decision makingInfluence and create unique, memorable sonic experiences in order to maintain quality and leverage existing resources for product consistency and efficiencyDevelop and maintain a consistent sonic brand identity across key Meta touchpointsGive and solicit feedback from other sound designers in order to continually raise our bar for qualityMinimum Qualifications:10+ years of professional sound design, including interaction (User Experience) sound, and sound implementation experience, focused on high-quality sonic experiences in real-time interactive productsDemonstrated experience creating bespoke Interaction (UX) sound design for high-profile productsExperience with sound design synthesis, latest plugins and foley recordingExperience in music productionExperience working with Pro Tools and/or other professional DAW’sUnderstanding of human-centered designUnderstanding of Design Systems and systems thinkingUnderstanding of haptics design patterns and principlesUnderstanding accessibility requirementsExperience managing, scoping and communicating project milestones and deliverablesExperience testing implementation of soundsExperience troubleshooting and problem solving complex technical issuesDemonstrated time-management and organizational skills to meet delivery specifications and deadlinesExperience communicating effectively with technical teams and software developers to ensure seamless and efficient sound implementationPreferred Qualifications:Video editing skills (Premier Pro, Final Cut, Avid, etc)Experience with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD)Knowledge of acoustics, equipment set ups and calibrationExperience mixing in a variety of mediums, such as mobile and spatial audioExperience in designing UI/UX audio for Augmented Reality(AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) experiencesExperience with game engines (Unity, Unreal)Understanding of programming and technical sound paradigms in VR, AR or other immersive mediumsAR audio experience with AR design tools (Spark, Snap Studio)About Meta:Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
