Through initiatives that protect our workers at work, transform careers, manage the cost of living, help with financial resilience and health, and nurture relationships for families, we champion every worker through every touch point as we work towards better wages, welfare, and work prospects.Because Every Worker Matters.The intern will support the Economic Policy Team in real-world policy work that directly impacts workers’ lives and livelihoods. You will support the Economic Policy team in conducting research, analysing data, and contributing to policy proposals and stakeholder engagements. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply your academic training in economics to practical challenges and gain exposure to tripartite collaboration. Key Responsibilities Conduct independent research using qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g. surveys, interviews, focus groups) on labour market trends, wage structures, and productivity. Analyse complex datasets and prepare clear, data-driven reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Participate in stakeholder engagements, including inter-agency and union meetings, and contribute to policy discussions. Assist in drafting policy briefs, discussion papers, and presentation decks for senior management. Support the development of proposals to uplift wages, work prospects, and job quality for various worker segments. Present findings and recommendations to senior leaders, gaining exposure to high-level decision-making processes. Candidate Profile Final-year undergraduate or postgraduate student in Economics, Public Policy, or related fields. Strong foundation in econometrics/ labour economics / public policy / behavioural economics is preferred. Proficient in tools such as Excel, STATA, SQL; able to handle large datasets and perform financial modelling. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Passionate about making a real impact on workers’ lives and contributing to public service. Learning Outcomes Apply economic analysis to real-life policy issues and understand its impact on “bread and butter” concerns. Gain insights into Singapore’s socio-economic landscape and the role of tripartite partners. Develop professional skills in research, stakeholder engagement, and policy communication. Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced policy officers and contribute meaningfully to NTUC’s Compact with Workers.
