If you want to make a difference in the world and develop yourself in the process, you've come to the right place.The Great Lakes Region (GLR) Cluster consists of two regional projects “Cooperation on peace, security and responsible resource governance in the Great Lakes Region of Africa” and “Incorporating local perspectives in the implementation of the Women, Peace & Security in the Great Lakes Region” (iWPS). The main thematic areas of the cluster are mineral governance as well as (Women), Peace & Security.The iWPS Project aims to improve conditions for a more systemic implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda at the local, national and regional levels in the Great Lakes Region. Commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ, the project contributes to Germany’s feminist development policy. The project focuses on three key areas: (i) capacity-building and funding of grassroots initiatives related to implementation of the WPS agenda; (ii) advocay and networking by civil society on the localization of the WPS agenda; (iii) monitoring, reporting and knowledge management on the WPS agenda.
