Intern RDI Academy Product Development

We are looking for an intern to join our Product Development team for a period of 6 months. The ideal candidate will have a level of familiarity and strong interest in dental implants and prosthetics, surgical instruments, biomaterials, designing test protocols, executing (mechanical) tests or analysing test results. The internship offers the opportunity to get real-life experience with product development for products within the medical device/dental field.Internship PurposeAssist the product development team by participating in product development, defining product testing strategy, designing test methods, testing products under development according to test plan, and analyzing test results of medical products. Supporting the development and maintenance of documentation applicable/related to medical devices.Main Tasks And ResponsibilitiesSupport of development or lifecycle projects on dental implants, prosthetic components, or surgical instruments, to ensure that the product meets the requirements.Author technical documentation to support product development organization (e.g., requirements documents, test management, risk assessments, etc.)Support with administrative tasks related to activities of product developmentEducationBachelor or Master degree in mechanical engineering, material science, life sciences or equivalent fieldRequirementsFamiliarity with mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes and applicable regulationsAbility to work on documentation, that follows good documentation practiceGood organization skillsProficiency in English (spoken and written)Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)Personal AttributesSelf-motivated personPlayer-Learner attitude: you communicate openly, embrace change, are solution driven, learn by doing and invite feedback.Team player, flexible, agile and proactiveWillingness to take ownership for assigned tasksAnalytical way of working, should have attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracyBenefits of the internshipPractical experience in the field of medical device development, being able to work in real world applications and projectsShadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with experienced engineers and professionals in the medical device/dental fieldOpportunities to learn about various technical topics, including product development and testing, manufacturing, design engineering, etc.Interested?Straumann is an equal opportunity employer and supports workforce diversity.
