Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Controller to join our Internal Control Unit. This is a seasoned professional role, with duties and responsibilities executed in accordance with the Internal Control Unit manual. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that internal processes, procedures and controls are designed effectively, implemented properly, and operate in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.Responsibilities:Evaluates the control environment and ensures appropriate internal controls are in place.When needed coordinates audits, examinations, and deliverable requirements from internal and external reviewers by supporting coordinating activities.Ensures the processes and Information Security, technological requirements are in compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures.Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Notifies the respective units and the executive management in order to eliminate the deficiencies determined as a result of the controls and to take actionInforms the relevant units and executive management about the processual or systemic improvement suggestions that appeared to be necessary as a result of the controlsCreates an opinion on the changes and innovations planned on the bank’s products upon request or on the internal banking policies, procedures and process documentsParticipates in the projects and working groups, councils and committees regarding the processes within the scope of their duties, and making recommendations during the related meetings in order to minimize the risksProvides periodical reports to the executive management, audit committee and internal control unit manager in order to ensure continuous follow-up of the risks arising from the acquisition of information technology management and external serviceDevelops the internal control review plans of the Information Systems in order to show the planned examinations to be carried out in the following year and submitting the same for the approval of the bank’s auditing committeePerforms reviews and controls to ensure operational efficiency, accuracy of financial statements, compliance with laws and regulations; delivers results to the related units as warning messages or periodic reports; follows up corrective actions.Adds new control items in RCMs (Risk Control Matrices) or makes suggestions to enhance existing RCMs pertaining to the whole internal control environment or only his/her areas of responsibility in order to develop the control environment and reduce the risks from operational errors.Follows up the Banking Law, relevant banking regulations or any other regulations affecting banking activities.
