Job Purpose- To complete due diligence on new to bank and existing client on-boarding, investigate and report unusual/suspicious cases to UAE Central Bank, de-risk flagged customers and perform system testing and maintenance in order to comply with regulatory requirements and mitigate risk for the bank. Job Responsibilities - Review and approve account opening/know your customer (KYC) documentation (in line with the KYC SOP approval Matrix), conduct quality client due diligence factoring AML/CFT and sanctions risks, liaise with business units and vigilance and control team to ensure quality of KYC forms and documents.
Assess and document on-boarding decisions for clients, provide advisory for sanctions matches referred by operations and business units and provide sign off for account opening for increased risk and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) customers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Be the first point of contact between business and compliance to ensure NTB onboardings are completed within the agreed SLAs. On regular basis review data of onboarded customers and provide recommendations to Senior Management on revisions to risk appetite.
Establish effective and collaborative relationship with all internal and external stakeholdersMake recommendations to the Head of Financial Crime Risk and/or Chief Compliance Officer for filing suspicious transaction report (STR/SAR) filed with the FIU on any suspicious activities at the time of onboarding. Set and review outcomes for parameter changes in the client on-boarding, AML, and sanctions systems, develop comprehensive user requirements and test cases, conduct testing for automated solutions, assist in identifying potential weaknesses in processes and systems and manage necessary fixes. Constantly review onboarding processes, recommend automation, and process improvements.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in law, economics, or business administration. Professional compliance / AML qualification will be an added advantageExperience 6– 7 years relevant experience in KYC onboarding Job Specific SkillsGood understanding of KYC/onboarding in a banking environment People management skills Good problem-solving skills. Good relationship management. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage. Ability to work under pressure and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
