Job Description

Duties include providing investigators with the collection, analysis, and documentation of information pertinent to active investigations;  performing a variety of technical law enforcement support work relative to cases being investigated by the detectives within the Criminal Investigation Division (CID); planning and carrying out detailed methods to attain desired objectives working within established policy; and using initiative and resourcefulness in developing processes and procedures.  Additional duties include responding to internal and external requests for information including the exchange of crime information with other law enforcement agencies; managing internal requests for cell phone mapping on active investigations; reviewing contents of extractions from electronic devices and public and law enforcement databases as well as social media accounts for evidence related to ongoing cases; and assisting with preparation of cases and submission to the appropriate District Attorney's Office. A high school diploma or equivalent, plus some college or vocational training in a related field, and two years of related experience required. Duties may involve access to sensitive Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), which requires that a thorough background check be conducted. Candidates will be subject to a criminal history check.
