Position Overview:We are seeking a talented Investment Banking Associate to join our Leveraged Finance & Syndication team in Sydney, focusing on local and global cross-border transactions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in executing leveraged finance deals and providing strategic advice to clients across various industries. This role will suit someone who is keen to work hard, has attention to detail, enthusiasm and drive to get things done and is seeking to gain exposure to quality deal flow in a high performing business. Key Responsibilities:Support senior bankers in originating, structuring, executing, and syndicating a broad range of debt transactions, including LBO’s, HY Bonds, and corporate syndicated loans across all sectors.Conduct industry research, financial analysis, and credit assessments to assist in client pitches and transaction processes.Prepare detailed financial models, pitch books, internal credit/underwriting memos and presentation materials for client meetings/transactions.Coordinate due diligence and committee approval processes, manage data rooms, and liaise with legal, compliance, and other internal teams to ensure seamless deal execution.Build and maintain relationships with clients, credit investors, and industry contacts to identify new business opportunities and expand the firm's presence in the region.Assist in training junior team members on debt products/processes across the investment banking business, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering or a related field. Finance degree with Law, or other post graduate qualifications (MBA, Masters or CFA) is a plus.3-6 years of relevant experience in investment banking, commercial banking, credit funds or Big 4 accounting, with exposure to debt financing, leveraged finance, capital markets, or corporate finance transactions, noting select related experience/backgrounds will be considered. Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.Understanding of loan and bond documentation.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects across timezones, and meet tight deadlines.
