OverviewA leading renewable energy investment platform is seeking a Director to join its Investment Team, supporting the evaluation and analysis of distributed generation and community solar projects across the United States. The company develops, owns, and operates a diversified portfolio of clean-energy assets and continues to scale with significant capital backing and a robust pipeline of projects through 2027.The Director will lead financial modeling and investment analysis for new opportunities, ensuring each project is rigorously underwritten and ready for presentation to senior leadership and the board. This individual will work closely with internal development, policy, and finance teams to deliver clear and actionable insights that drive project approvals and capital deployment.\Key ResponsibilitiesLead project-level and portfolio-level financial modeling for new C&I and community solar investments, running sensitivities and scenario analyses across multiple markets and policy frameworks.Evaluate the financial impact of various structure types (sale-leaseback, partnership flip, debt-only, etc.) and collaborate with Structured Finance on execution.Maintain, refine, and standardise models used for board presentations, investment approvals, and portfolio management.Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Development, Policy, and Finance teams to ensure assumptions and inputs accurately reflect market and technical conditions.Prepare and present investment analyses and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors.Support due-diligence processes as projects move from origination through to financing and construction readiness.Mentor and oversee analysts and associates, fostering a collaborative, detail-oriented, and high-performing team culture.Contribute to continuous process improvement, including automation and model efficiency initiatives.Qualifications7–10+ years of experience in project finance, investment analysis, or structured finance within renewable energy (C&I or community solar experience strongly preferred).Advanced Excel modeling expertise, with the ability to build and adapt complex project and portfolio models.Strong understanding of tax equity and debt financing economics, including sale-leaseback and partnership-flip mechanisms.Familiarity with state-level community solar programs and related regulatory and policy considerations.Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to executive audiences or investment committees.Proven leadership ability and track record of developing junior team members.
