This breadth gives us close proximity to the companies we own and the markets we invest in. Our APAC operations have been based in Singapore since 1992. We invest in Asian companies to grow with them and to help them to become better investors.Job ResponsibilitiesInvestmentContribute to team investment process and contribute to team management of assetsLead meetings with management of companiesAttend all regular team meetings to discuss and present investment ideasProvide updates on company meetings and results at team meetingsRepresent abrdn in client meetingsLeadership/People ManagementMentor and train junior team membersMarketing/Business DevelopmentPresent the investment process to prospective clientsWork closely with distribution team to win new mandatesPortfolio AdministrationMaintain model portfoliosPlan and execute trades and ensure all trades are in line with requirements of client mandates.Portfolio Construction/ManagementAssist in monitoring portfolio/portfolio activities in the course of portfolio management workAssist in portfolio construction e.g. planning and setting up tradesParticipate in generating trade ideas for funds managed on deskAssist in monitoring portfolios / portfolio activities in the course of portfolio management workAble to rebalance portfolios around corporate actions and deal with cash inflows and outflowsPlan and execute trades and ensure all trades are in line with the requirements of client mandatesResearchUndertake security and sector analysis and complete stock notesKeep up-to-date on sector, country and market developments and trendsCountry trips and produce investment trip reportsTo perform analysis of company results and provide results commentaries of portfolio holdingsRisk ManagementTo maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance and dealing proceduresTo comply with all regulatory, legal, corporate and client mandatesTraining and DevelopmentTo build and maintain knowledge of abrdn investment process, products and allocated market/sector responsibilitiesTo build and maintain knowledge of abrdn systems, including Charles River, BloombergTo participate and attend Continual Professional development opportunities in order to maintain knowledge and skillsJob RequirementsA good Bachelor’s degree or Post-graduate degreeCFA qualified (or working towards)Possess Fund manager License is a requirement3 to 5 years’ experience in the relevant industryStrong academic performance combined with extracurricular interests and achievementsStrong analytical and research skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsTeam player with ability to manage own workloadGood influencing skillsFlexibility and adaptabilityExcellent command of spoken and written English and ThaiWe’re committed to providing an inclusive workplace where all forms of difference are valued and which is free from any form of unfair or unlawful treatment.
