Hays is supporting a leading technology firm based in Abu Dhabi in its search for a highly qualified Investment Manager to join its Investments, Technology & Finance department. This role is focused on principal investments in digital infrastructure, including data centres, edge computing, and fibre networks.Key Responsibilities:Support the execution of new investment transactions with clear accountability for delivery.Provide sector-specific expertise, aligning corporate strategy with investment execution.Strengthen internal underwriting and deal execution capabilities to mitigate execution risk.Lead due diligence and valuation processes, ensuring governance alignment and minimizing execution slippage.Mentor and develop internal talent, supporting institutional knowledge transfer and reducing reliance on external advisors.Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Human Capital teams to ensure alignment across due diligence, structuring, and resource planning.Conduct sector research, competitive benchmarking, and regulatory reviews to inform investment strategy.Support post-investment value creation initiatives, including performance tracking and operational improvements.Partner with Asset Management to monitor financial and operational KPIs of portfolio companies.Build and maintain relationships with developers, operators, advisors, and institutional partners across target geographies.Originate and evaluate new investment opportunities aligned with the organisation’s strategic roadmap.Requirements:5–10 years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, or corporate finance, with a strong focus on digital infrastructure and/or data centres.Advanced technical skills in financial modelling, valuation, and structuring.Deep understanding of the data centre investment lifecycle, including land acquisition, design/build, power procurement, and operational scaling.Ability to translate macro-level digital infrastructure trends (AI, cloud expansion, sovereign computing) into actionable investment theses.Familiarity with institutional investment frameworks, investment committee processes, and corporate governance standards.Proven ability to coach junior team members and foster a culture of ownership and technical excellence.Experience working in GCC or emerging markets, with strong appreciation of regional business culture and partnership dynamics.Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams independently and deliver within tight timelines.Strong interest in transitioning into a principal investing environment with long-term career growth.Preferred Backgrounds:Candidates with advisory experience in digital infrastructure and cross-border transactions.Professionals from TMT-focused firms with strong sector expertise.Individuals with data centre transaction experience in real estate or infrastructure advisory.
