To achieve this, we welcome passionate new Jumpers who want to play a crucial role in shaping our future.ExpectationsAs an Investment Officer you will assist with the identification, appraisal, processing and supervision of debt investments in MFIs in the Africa/Middle East region. You will contribute to the full investment cycle, from origination to monitoring of the investment. You will develop an extensive regional network of partners and other people/institutions relevant to the fulfillment of your position. The position requires frequent travel within the region (with an average of one week per month). You will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.Job RequirementsThis position requires an economic or financial oriented education, plus considerable working experiences in an asset manager, rating agency, a development- or a commercial bank. You should have experience with analyzing financial statements and financial ratios as well as with institutional assessments (i.e., governance, risk management, internal control etc.) of financial institutions and dealing with legal and organization issues as part of the due diligence process. You should have an extensive network of partners and other people/institutions relevant to the fulfilment of the position in the region. You are familiar, or willing to familiarize yourself, with issues of development co-operation in a cross cultural context. You have demonstrable communication and reporting skills and are able to disseminate knowledge and mediate between different views.CompetenciesMinimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience;Result-oriented with excellent writing skills;Excellent communicator and negotiator with strong analytical skills;Excellent writing and presenting skills;Comfortable working in a team while independently developing new and managing existing markets;Fluent in English is a must;Don’t meet every single requirement?
