The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investment Specialist to join our Sydney-based team. This key role is focused on working with Auscap’s Head of Distribution to drive growth and deepen relationships within the retail and High Net Worth (HNW) segments, primarily focused on sophisticated investors, and assisting our external distribution partner, GSFM, to manage our relationships with advisers, institutions and other wholesale clients. The successful candidate will be focused on articulating our philosophy, strategy, and performance with expertise and credibility. The role is potentially flexible in terms of hours and days worked for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities· Drive new business development and distribution efforts across the retail and HNW channels in Australia, focusing on sophisticated investors.· Work with Auscap’s distribution partner, GSFM, to develop and manage wholesale client relationships.· Present Auscap's investment philosophy, portfolio construction, performance, and market outlook at client meetings, roadshows, and industry events.· Identify, target, and convert new HNW and wholesale client opportunities in line with Auscap's growth strategy while also managing and deepening relationships with existing clients. · Serve as a subject matter expert on Auscap's investment products, market views and fund positioning.· Collaborate closely with the Investment Team to maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the portfolio strategies and holdings.· Assist in the creation and delivery of high-quality investment content, including pitch books, market commentaries, client updates and thought leadership pieces.· Report directly to the Head of Distribution, providing regular updates on the sales pipeline, client engagement metrics and market feedback.· Maintain strong internal relationships with the Investment, Operations and Compliance teams to ensure a seamless client experience.Preferred but not essential· Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar Investment Specialist, Sales, or Distribution role within asset management, wealth management, or financial services, with a clear focus on the HNW market.· Deep knowledge of Australian equities and financial markets, including active management.· Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics or a related field. · Proven track record of raising capital and developing sustainable relationships with HNW clients.· Strong understanding of the Australian regulatory environment for retail investors.· An existing network of relevant contacts within the HNW community is a distinct advantage.RequirementsTo be successful in this role you will have:· Strong interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build rapport and create relationships.· Excellent written communication skills and high attention to detail.· Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to articulate investment concepts clearly and persuasively.· Strong organisational skills.· A self-motivated, proactive and target-driven approach with a keen interest in sales and goals-oriented outcomes.· High level of commercial acumen, professionalism and integrity.· Advanced MS Office skills, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel.· A flexible approach with the ability to adapt and prioritise as appropriate.
