Who We AreBy joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.What You’ll Be DoingDesigning and implementing system architecture across all environments (SAT/TEST, CONF, PROD). Ensuring alignment with organizational IT strategy and design for scalability, reliability, and performance.Designing system architecture encompassing hardware, software, and network components.Ensuring strategic alignment with the contracting authority's IT goals.Developing scalable, reliable, and high-performance IT infrastructure solutions.Reviewing development team documentation and recommending appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools.Creating infrastructure layouts, including server configurations, data storage solutions, and network topology.Ensuring IT systems meet operational requirements.Documenting architectural procedures and guidelines for consistency and clarity.What You’ll Bring AlongBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferredMinimum 10 years of experience in a similar roleProven experience in IT architecture, system design, and infrastructure planning.Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network components.Proficiency in cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.ITIL knowledge (mandatory).IT infrastructure expertise.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.Ability to assess complex systems and design scalable solutions.Strong skills to optimize system performance and address technical challenges.Capability to mentor and guide development teams in best architectural practices.Excellent command of both spoken and written English
