IT Solution Architect, Data Platforms

You will guide both internal teams and external vendors to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performing data products that empower business decision-making.Collaboration is at the heart of this position. You will partner with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable data strategies, work alongside IT and infrastructure teams to implement best practices and engage with Enterprise Architects to ensure alignment with Valmet’s broader technology vision. Through these partnerships, you will drive the delivery of data solutions that enhance operational performance and create competitive advantage for Valmet. This position can be located in any major Valmet location in Finland or India.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for technical architecture and development practices of Valmet Data LakeOversee and guide the development in data lake domains together with the domain architectsTake ownership of our data platform architecture and provide guidelines for all stakeholders including IT, business and project teamsOversee the administration and maintenance of our data platform infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure smooth operations.Identify and implement improvements and optimization to enhance the efficiency and scalability of the data platformImplement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Maintain comprehensive documentation of data platform configurations, processes, and best practices, and facilitate knowledge sharing with the broader team.To succeed in this position, we expect you to have:Bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, engineering, or relevant field.Solid understanding of data platforms, data management, and data architecture principles (data lake, data warehouse, metadata, governance)Proven experience in administering and managing Microsoft Fabric or similar data platforms.Experience in Microsoft Azure services, including data platform related technologies.Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles, with experience implementing them in a Microsoft environment.Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques for ingesting and processing data from diverse sources.Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines effectively.Strategic mindset with a proven track record of influencing and aligning stakeholders to achieve complex goals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration with diverse teams.Following Experience Is Regarded As An AdvantageExperience with SQL querying and scripting languages (e.g., DBT, T-SQL, PowerShell) for data manipulation and automationExperience with business intelligence tools (etc. Power BI).Understanding of data management concepts, including data governance, data security, and data quality.We OfferJoin a pioneering team at the forefront of innovation in analytics technology.
