This role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, managing inventory, and assisting with lab devices and software. The specialist will work closely with the IT team to meet local user needs and will have opportunities to develop communication skills through interactions with U.S.-based contacts. This position offers hands-on experience in IT operations, with a focus on network and firewall systems, under the guidance and supervision of senior IT staff.What You'll Do Perform daily network and firewall log monitoring; investigate and escalate abnormalities Assist with the maintenance and documentation of network inventory Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including wireless access points, switches, and printers Support connectivity troubleshooting for lab systems and end-user devices Perform firewall and access control tasks, including card access and user permissions Assist with patch management checks and implement approved updates Support the deployment of laptops, workstations, and networked lab devices Provide remote and onsite IT support for local and USA-based users Help develop and maintain IT SOPs for lab systems, network operations, and security processes Collaborate with the IT team on reporting, ticket management, and small upgrades Additional duties, training and ad hoc projects on an as needed basis for USA/CRWhat You Will Bring Bachelor's Degree in IS/IT preferred along with two years of hands-on technical experience Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) Experience with firewall monitoring and configuration Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and remote support tools Hands-on experience with hardware/software troubleshooting Strong English/Spanish communication skills both written and verbal Detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to expand knowledge in network security and IT infrastructure Ability to work under guidance and escalate issues appropriatelyWorking Conditions and Physical Effort Position may include exposure to loud noises from machines and or alarms. Position may require from time to time, physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 20-25 pounds. Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which will require following basic safety precautions.
