Communication within the team and with international customers is just as much a part of your activities as reporting to the relevant managers. Maintaining the system and updating the services is just as much a part of your tasks as the maintenance of the databases and the expansion and conversion of the system landscape.Your Area of Responsibility:Administration of Linux and MS Windows based servers & servicesInstallation and setup of web applications and database servers based on customer requirementsSetting up customer applications based on customer guidelinesExperience with web stack technologies (HTTP, web servers, reverse proxy, loadbalacing)Strong understanding of OS-level security (Linux/Windows)Setup and administration of Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MSSQL databasesBuild, Manage, and optimize containerized environment using DockerAutomate configuration management, deployment, and orchestration using AnsibleControl, analysis and reporting of the performance and volume of the server infrastructureEnsuring the integrity and security of systems and applications through the strict technical implementation of internal security guidelinesRegular reporting according to the respective escalation level based on the problem management metricRequirementsYour Profile:Successfully completed studies in computer science or a comparable qualificationSeveral years of professional experience as a system administrator (between 2~3 year experience)Ability to work in an international, multicultural companyVery good knowledge of at least one of the following operating systems: RHEL, MS Windows Server, Docker and AnsibleSound administration knowledge in MSSQL or MySQL or Oracle DBGood knowledge of VMware vSphere and shared storageKnowledge of DNS, LDAP, AD and Remote Services and SSHExperience working with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, MS Azure or Google Cloud or OCI -Programming or scripting knowledgeEfficient troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of networks (e.g. TCP and firewall)Willingness to travel to support additional locationsGood language skills in English (spoken and written), German desirable and proficiency in Korean language (preferred)Ability to work in a team and structured work complete your profileAdminister and maintain Linux-based systems, including Red Hat and Ubuntu distributions, ensuring optimal performance and security.Monitor system health, performance, and uptime to ensure continuous operation of mission-critical applications.Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux server environments and software applications.Implement security measures to safeguard Linux systems from unauthorized access, including patch management, firewalls, and vulnerability assessments.Provide ongoing support for the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of systems and software.Automate system administration tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or other relevant tools.Conduct backups, disaster recovery processes, and system restores.Work closely with development teams to support deployments and system integrations.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network, storage, hardware, and software performance.Ensure system configurations are compliant with industry best practices and organizational standards.Manage virtualization platforms and container technologies (such as VMware, KVM, Docker).Maintain and manage access control policies, user accounts, and group permissions.Document procedures, configurations, and issue resolutions to build and maintain an internal knowledge base.BenefitsBenefits:30,5 days holiday per year (full-time)Employee benefitsCapital forming (VWL) monthly in the amount of up to € 25sports allowance of up to €25 per month2 days per week mobile working / also available within GermanySummer & winter (Christmas) partiesLaptop & mobile phoneBread and fruit basket alternately during the week in our officeHave we sparked your interest?We would be glad to receive your full application documents, including your salary expectations and availability.“Join us at Samsung SDS and harness ground-breaking new technologies, as you improve the way the world works and lives with your expertise."
