Overview JOB TITLE: Cloud Security Analyst AGENCY SUPPORTED: Department of Homeland Security (DHS) – USCIS OIT Architecture Engineering Support (AES2)LOCATION: Fully RemotePOSITION TYPE: Full-timeCLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability security clearance, which typically requires 2–4 weeks for processing and must be completed prior to the start date. The project supports USCIS’s Office of Information Technology by delivering enterprise IT architecture, engineering, and solution development services. The team partners across OIT to design, implement, and optimize leading-edge technologies—including cloud, network, Zero Trust architecture, automation, and AI/ML—using agile and DevOps practices. The work enables USCIS to modernize IT systems, enhance mission delivery, and support major enterprise initiatives such as digitization, cloud migration, and software-defined networking.

The Cloud Security Analyst will be responsible for managing and implementing security solutions across multi-cloud environments. This role requires expertise in cloud security analysis, security management, serverless computing, and DevOps tools. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to design secure, scalable, and compliant cloud environments while ensuring continuous monitoring and risk mitigation. Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage cloud security solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments. Perform security analysis and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies. Implement and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and best practices.

Monitor cloud environments for security events, threats, and compliance violations. Support DevOps pipelines and serverless computing environments with integrated security controls. Collaborate with OIT stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure security is incorporated into cloud architecture and operations. Develop and maintain documentation for cloud security configurations, policies, and procedures. Stay current on emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques. Qualifications REQUIRED: 5–7+ years of experience in cloud security or related IT security roles. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field strongly preferred; Advanced degree preferred. Proven expertise in:

Cloud security management and implementation Security analysis and risk assessment Multi-cloud security frameworks (AWS, Azure, GCP) Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to design and implement security solutions that balance protection, performance, and scalability. Must be eligible to obtain DHS Suitability clearance. Desired Experience with Serverless computing security Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD integration WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is fully remote. Candidates must have a dedicated workspace, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
