Overview JOB TITLE: Enterprise Directory Services Specialist AGENCY SUPPORTED: Department of Homeland Security (DHS) – USCIS OIT Architecture Engineering Support (AES2)LOCATION: Fully RemotePOSITION TYPE: Full-timeCLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability security clearance, which typically requires 2–4 weeks for processing and must be completed prior to the start date. The project supports USCIS’s Office of Information Technology by delivering enterprise IT architecture, engineering, and solution development services. The team partners across OIT to design, implement, and optimize leading-edge technologies—including enterprise directory services, networking, Windows Server environments, and security solutions—ensuring enterprise identity management systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.

The work enables USCIS to modernize IT systems, enhance mission delivery, and support major enterprise initiatives such as hybrid cloud adoption, directory modernization, and enterprise security improvements. The Enterprise Directory Services Specialist will be responsible for managing the implementation, administration, and operation of enterprise directory services. This role requires deep expertise in networking, security, and Windows Server operating systems, with the ability to ensure directory services are reliable, secure, and performant across the enterprise. Responsibilities Implement, administer, and maintain enterprise directory services for large-scale environments. Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of directory services across hybrid and on-premises systems.

Collaborate with network, security, and system teams to integrate directory services into enterprise IT architecture. Troubleshoot and resolve directory service issues, including authentication, replication, and access management. Develop and maintain documentation for directory service configurations, processes, and standards. Support directory service migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives. Apply industry best practices to directory services administration, security, and compliance. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in enterprise directory services, Windows Server administration, or related IT roles. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred; Advanced degree preferred. Proven expertise in:

Networking concepts and protocols Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory Enterprise directory services implementation and administration Security best practices for directory services Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage enterprise directory services ensuring high availability, security, and scalability. Must be eligible to obtain DHS Suitability clearance. Desired Proficiency with scripting languages to automate directory services tasks and workflows. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is fully remote. Candidates must have a dedicated workspace, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
