The company is currently seeking a highly organized and motivated Yacht Accountant to join our Yacht Management team. Working directly under the supervision of the Head of the Yacht Management Department and Yacht Managers, the ideal candidate will be involved in the day-to-day finance activities, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial data required for the department's operations. This role demands a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to join our dynamic Yacht Management team and gain exposure to the operational and administrative aspects of managing large yachts in a constantly evolving and international environment. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Financial Reporting & BudgetingPrepare Annual, Quarterly & Monthly budgets for each vessel in collaboration with captain & Yacht Managers as requested by the owner. Produce financial reports for the owner and/or owner’s Representative as requested. Accounts Payable Process accounts payable tasks as assigned, including document uploads, monthly bank reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.
Track expenses and invoices to ensure proper documentation and compliance with the approved budget. Ensure invoices and purchase orders are properly described in the company’s YM database (BLUE) for accurate expense allocation. Maintain accurate and up to date records and a structured filing system for accounting documents, contracts etc. Liaise with vendors and other departments on financial matters and assist during audits. Qualifications & Requirements: University degree in Finance, Shipping Studies or a similar field. 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the industry and within a fast-paced and structured accounting office or financial department.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems. (Experience with FileMaker and working knowledge & utilization of QuickBooks accounting software will be considered an asset)Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Italian will be considered an asset. Solid understanding of accounting principles. Excellent communication skills. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Ability to efficiently prioritize and multitask. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work efficiently under pressure. Knowledge of maritime regulations and tax compliance is an advantage. Familiarity with myData will be also highly valued.
