Nexeo Belgium is a consultancy company that supports its clients in the banking, finance, insurance, and public sectors throughout all stages of their transformation projects — from business consulting to the implementation of IT solutions.As a consultant, you will have the opportunity to be part of Nexeo:International environment (offices in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland & Canada)More than 450 employeesOver 20% growth each yearWe are currently looking for a Java Developer / Scrum Master for one of our clients in the public sector.Your ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development & MaintenanceDesign, develop, and maintain Java applications within the Orion team.Adapt existing code or create new functionalities in line with business needs.Refactor legacy code and ensure adherence to development standards and security requirements.Perform unit and integration testing to maintain high-quality deliverables.Manage deployments, version control, and CI/CD processes in Jenkins.Technical Analysis & ArchitectureConduct technical analysis and create detailed technical designs.Collaborate with the Application Architect to define and implement optimal software architectures.Identify and proactively reduce technical debt, ensuring clean and maintainable code.Agile Project Management (Scrum Master Role)Act as Scrum Master within the development team, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.Support the Product Owner in managing the backlog and sprint priorities.Coach junior and medior developers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.Ensure smooth application of Agile principles and continuous improvement within the team.Your ProfileExperience & KnowledgeStrong expertise in Java and the J2EE ecosystem (Hibernate, EJB3, web services).Proficiency with Spring, JBoss, REST and SOAP web services.Experience with Git, CI/CD (Jenkins), IntelliJ, OpenGrok, and Miro.Good command of SQL (advanced querying) and modelling tools such as UML and BPMN.Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).Familiarity with quality assurance processes and continuous integration techniques.Soft SkillsTeam player with strong communication and leadership abilities.Proactive, organized, and capable of working autonomously.Curious, open-minded, and eager to bring value to the organization.Ability to coach and mentor junior developers.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Education & LanguagesMaster’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.Previous experience in a public sector environment is a plus.Good knowledge of English and at least one national language (French or Dutch).Join Nexeo Belgium and take part in delivering high-quality digital transformation projects within the public sector.Work in an Agile, collaborative, and purpose-driven environment while contributing to the modernization of critical national services.Apply now and grow with us!
