Macro Strategy and Asia Financials, Equity Research Associate

Overview: Jefferies is seeking a motivated and experiences Macro Strategy and Asia Financials/Property Equity Research Analyst to join our Equity Research business. The role will focus on China macroeconomics and strategy, as well as providing in-depth equity research in regional property and financials sectors. This position requires a strong understanding of macroeconomic trends, sectoral developments, and equity markets to support investment decision-making and strategy formulation. Key Responsibilities: Macro Strategy and ResearchStay on top of macroeconomic updates across China, including GDP, monetary policy, fiscal policy, inflation, trade, and geopolitical developments.

Develop actionable insights and recommendations on China’s macroeconomic environment and its implications Provide regular updates and reports on macro strategy, including thematic research on economic outlook and structural reforms. Equity Research – Regional Property and Financials: Conduct in-depth research on the financial sector, focusing on trends in real estate development, regulatory changes, liquidity, and market performance. Analyze the financial/property sector, covering banks, insurers, and brokers; or property developers, and property managers. Develop and maintain detailed financial models on companies within the property and financials sectors.

Provide valuation analysis, earnings forecasts, and investment recommendations to support portfolio managers and clients. Market EngagementMaintain regular dialogue with key stakeholders, including institutional investors, corporate executives, and policymakers, to gather insights and validate research assumptions. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and conferences to discuss research findings and strategy recommendations. Collaboration Work closely with colleagues across the Asia Equity Research business to develop integrated regional strategies and cross-sector insights. Collaborate with global macro and strategy teams to align China’s outlook with broader global macroeconomic themes. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; advanced degrees or certificates (e. g.

, Master’s, CFA, MBA) are preferred. 3–8 years of experience in equity research/macro strategy or a related fieldProven expertise in covering Macro/Financials/Property sector is highly desirable. Strong financial modeling and valuation skills. Exceptional ability to synthesize macroeconomic and sectoral data into actionable insights. Experience in preparing and delivering client-facing reports and presentations. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required. Ability in other Asian languages is advantageous.
