Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW: Leading steel manufacturer is seeking to fill entry-level Material Handler positions for 1st, 2nd & 3 rd shift for its Sinton, TX single-site steel coil processing plant. Responsibilities include loading/unloading raw steel materials and finished products including banding and palletizing; assisting on the press and/or slitter production lines as assigned; perform maintenance helper and other general labor actions as assigned. Successful training may lead to operator positions. EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School/GED PreferredManufacturing-Related Experience PreferredForklift/overhead, crane operation experience preferred; on-the-job training provided. General Labor EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School/GED Required Valid Driver’s License RequiredOne-to-Two (1-2) Years Maintenance-Related Experience RequiredTwenty-four to Thirty-Six (24-36) Months On-The-Job Training RequiredJOB QUALIFICATIONS: Possess dependability to be consistently at work and on timePossess basic reading and math skills including knowledge of fractions and decimal computationsPossess basic verbal/written comprehension skillsPossess basic measuring skills using tape measure, micrometers, and/or calipersPossess ability to follow safety procedures and guidelinesPossess a “Team” mentalityPossess repetitive standing and/or bending capability during normal phase dutiesPossess medium/heavy (20-75 lbs. ) lifting capability during normal phase duties ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Perform a safety evaluation of assigned work station and surrounding area. Assist slitter line by performing loading, tooling, banding, and rewind actions. Assist press line by stacking plate bundles. Operate material handling motorized equipment (upon completion of in-house training/certification) to load/unload trucks and train cars. Assist maintenance personnel in a helper capacity. Perform work station and surrounding area housekeeping tasks as required. Set and position machine dyes to comply with production specifications.
