Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for supporting international teams and navigating the complexities of cross-border HR operations? We are looking for a proactive, people-oriented HR Advisor to join a growing European HR team in Budapest. You will play a key role in driving HR excellence, supporting acquisitions, and contributing to initiatives that foster employee engagement and operational consistency. Main duties and responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for employees on HR-related matters;Support the integration of newly acquired companies, ensuring alignment with group HR practices;Assist in the harmonisation of compensation, benefits, and employee terms and conditions for acquired employees where applicable;Guide employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation;Partner with business leaders on recruitment and onboarding processes across multiple jurisdictions;Ensure compliance with local labour laws and internal policies in Hungary;Support payroll coordination and benefits administration;Manage HR administration;Contribute to HR projects such as engagement surveys, training initiatives, and process improvements;Support the delivery of HR workshops and employee engagement initiatives.
Required competencies: Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in HR Generalist/HRBP positions;Fluent English and native Hungarian (additional European languages are a plus);Strong knowledge of Hungarian labour laws and HR best practices;Confident communicator with excellent problem-solving skills;Comfortable working independently;Take a hands-on approach to establishing the HR function, including handling day-to-day operations;At least one day a week office presence;Willingness to travel approx. 10–15% of the time. Desirable competencies: Experience supporting acquisitions or fast-growth environments is an advantage.
