Job Description

This is a remote position.Technical SEO SpecialistWe’re working with an established Australian business where SEO plays a vital role in driving growth and visibility. Their current SEO setup is already advanced — featuring thousands of programmatically generated pages, supported by both offsite and manually created content — but they’re now looking for a skilled Technical SEO Specialist to take performance to the next level.Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits and identify opportunities to improve crawlability, indexation, and site health. Optimise site architecture, internal linking, and structured data to enhance visibility and search performance. Monitor site performance using tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and PageSpeed Insights. Analyse and optimise Core Web Vitals, page load speeds, and mobile responsiveness. Implement and manage schema markup, canonical tags, redirects, and XML sitemaps. Collaborate with development teams to implement technical improvements and ensure SEO best practices are integrated into all new builds. Manage large-scale, programmatically generated pages for indexing and content quality compliance. Stay current with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge. RequirementsMinimum 3–5 years’ experience in technical SEO, ideally for high-traffic or eCommerce websites. Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, or custom frameworks). Experience with log file analysis and managing large websites (1,000+ pages). Proven track record in improving organic visibility and technical site performance. Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Sheets and data interpretation. Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with remote teams. Additional Details Location: Remote (South Africa-based candidates only). Collaboration: Frequent communication with the Sydney-based team — early morning availability required due to time zone difference (South Africa is 9 hours behind Sydney). Start Date: As soon as possible.
