JOB TITLE: Director of Operations (Manufacturing)LOCATION: Santiago, DRGENERAL DESCRIPTION OR PURPOSE OF JOB: This role leads Jostens manufacturing activities for Neff products as well as other apparel products manufactured at SPI (Jackets, banners, chenille letters, fleece, outerwear etc. ) with responsibility for delivering volume, on time delivery, cost, quality, and safety to plan. This role plans, directs and coordinates all manufacturing and production activities for the SPI, Santiago Facility. The incumbent is accountable for meeting and exceeding customer expectations, achieving plan, and providing active leadership over production.

The incumbent identifies and drives improvement through the operations to improve cost, delivery, quality and continually upgrading processes. RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead efforts in all areas of Operations Develop objectives, goals, strategies, and measures and deliver results meeting or exceeding goals for safety, quality, cost, delivery, operational excellence, and growth.

Passionately drive lean business system culture and lead development and implementation of the roadmap to achieve continuous improvement and ultimately breakthrough performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost reductionDrive manufacturing efficiency and assess opportunities to reduce cost, taking aggressive action to drive financial performance in the areas of direct and indirect labor, manufacturing overhead cost, and inventory levels. Drive continuous improvement throughout the operations, leveraging Lean 6 Sigma, technology, automation, etc. Establish, maintain, and deliver a multiyear pipeline of Cost Improvement Projects (CIP’s) and initiatives.

Lead operations’ journey and further develop our operational excellence culture leveraging Lean 6 Sigma, Employee Engagement and Hoshin Planning Lead the execution of a yearly operating plan that meets safety, cost, quality, on-time delivery, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction and retention objectives. Ensure key manufacturing metrics, key performance indicators (KPI), systems / tools are consistently tracking the appropriate measures and provoking appropriate responsive behavior or corrective action.

Ensure effective allocation of resources across all areas of the operation to accomplish customer‐driven prioritiesDrive rapid, significant, and sustainable process improvements resulting in on‐time delivery improvement and reduction in lead‐time Direct efforts in all areas of Yearbook Operations Ensure the best possible product, and customer satisfactionLead, develop and improve the plant’s operations management team and foster a culture of development and learning through floor supervision and team leads.

Oversee and direct the recruitment, selection, training, and development of operations staffEnsure that successors are identified and are developing at an appropriate rate for all critical rolesLead regular strategy deployment & reviews for the operations team to ensure attainment of results while instilling a sense of urgency with respect to strategy implementation priorities Plan, direct and lead manufacturing, and production activities Gain familiarity with all operations and to be able to effectively pivot between operations based on seasonality, needs of the Sr. Director of YB Operations, etc.

Establish production and manufacturing methods and measures to ensure high quality and efficient costs processes are usedReview and evaluate cost effectiveness, consistency, quality, accuracy and performance to standards and take action as necessary to correct discrepanciesAssure compliance of plant operations with company policy, and all national, state and local regulationsPersonally, or through subordinates, perform those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the business units, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring work performedContinuously monitor operational performance for plants.

Identify and take corrective action as necessary SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel. Clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities to enable individuals to proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions. Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis; conduct effective performance reviews; take corrective action whenever necessary and, where necessary, work with HR Generalists to establish performance improvement plans.

Support the development of assigned personnel’s skills and abilities and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct (Jostens values) and work performance. Identify and resolve skill gaps and succession issues. Administer Company policies regarding discipline, absenteeism, etc. , in a fair and equitable manner, and fully document all incidents and actions taken. Involve assigned HR Generalist on compliance issues such as pay equity, equal opportunity in hiring and promotions, and proper procedures for hiring, terminations, lay-offs, etc. JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS: Required:

Bilingual English/SpanishDominican ID requiredBA or BS in management, manufacturing technology, engineering, or equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience and results in an operations turnaround assignment5+ years of related experience leading manufacturing operations, including progressive management experienceIn-depth understanding of apparel product manufacturing or comparable management experience in settings with mass customization, seasonal employment and/or short-run manufacturingDemonstrated ability to satisfy multiple competing demands (sales, customers, and employees)Financial planning and control experience, with P&L accountabilityExperience with capacity planning, process, and reporting improvement initiatives.

Demonstrated continuous and process improvement successes and commitment to quality processesDemonstrated ability to create and/or manage a diverse workforceAbility to integrate contemporary technologies into manufacturing processes to improve productivityThe ability to assess and identify needs in talent and the organization, and demonstrated leadership abilities to develop manufacturing human resourcesIn-depth understanding of local labor legislation knowledgePreferred:

Diverse operations and/or supply chain experience and accomplishments across multiple world class companies and industriesExperience in a Shingo Prize, ISO 9001, or similar system of best practiceExperience in multiple business units (Quality, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service)Experience working in a startup or business turnaround assignmentMBASix Sigma and/or Lean Certification
