We are seeking a talented NZ based journalist to write for our New Zealand and Australian B2B education industry and accommodation industry publications.Job Title: Education and Accommodation Industry Staff Writer, Digital & PrintThis is a permanent full-time position for a writer to work from home in New Zealand for a B2B print and digital publication. The successful applicant will be required to work across titles in both New Zealand and Australia, though New Zealand content will be the dominant workload.40 hours per week.Salary: NZ$65,520This is a great opportunity for:A trained journalist with a flair for creative writing and news reporting, and a knack for headlines. Experience working in the B2B magazine sector or on trade publications will be highly valued, as will someone who has written industry news and/or commercial features for a professional readership.Also suited to this position is a recent graduate in the areas of journalism, or professional writing, editing, and publishing, who knows how to write for a specific industry and is keen to expand their career.The successful candidate will:Work from home.Have a finger on the pulse of the primary and secondary education sector, and the accommodation, sector and will click with our professional readers.Liaise and collaborate with our remote advertorial and editorial teams to help produce content for our print and digital education industry titles.Meet regular weekly and quarterly writing deadlines. Manage and build contacts for stories, conduct interviews, and sometimes attend and cover industry events.Craft engaging social media posts to drive traffic to our stories and website, and raise awareness for our titles.Skills and experience - candidate must be able to:Write accurate copy that adheres to our style guide.Display high ethical standards for best-practice journalism and have up-to-date knowledge of NZ media law.Take pride in content and connect with readers.Suggest new ways to better engage readers and develop digital audience. Either have some experience writing for the primary and secondary education sector and/or accommodation sector, or be able to make connections within the industry and cover pressing issues that affect teachers, principals, and other school staff.Use Wordpress and Outlook Desirable skills:A familiarity with Notion.Experience with Wordpress.A few years’ experience in trade/B2B media, or a relevant tertiary qualification.About usMultimedia Publishing Ltd is a small, family-run publishing company with print and digital media titles distributed across Australia and New Zealand that cover the accommodation and education sectors.
