Job Description
Position SummaryThe Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organisation. This position is ideal for individuals who have recently completed their accounting qualifications and are seeking to gain practical experience in a dynamic and professional environment.Main Responsibilities- Receive, review & post vendor invoices in the accounting system, mainly using OCR and other automated systems- Ensure approval of invoices according to internal policies- Prepare weekly payment runs- Review and book the expense claims according to the internal policy- Handle vendor inquiries & resolve discrepancies- Assist with month-end closing activities related to AP- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports.- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and accruals.- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings.- Respond to queries from internal teams and external stakeholders regarding financial data.- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards.- Provide administrative support to the finance team as required.- Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and workflows, i.e. become more efficient- Support automation and digitalization in our new accounting toolRequirements- Degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance.- Strong numerical and analytical skills.- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel;- Solution driven.- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced setting.- Previous internship or work experience in accounting is beneficial but not required.Languages: You are fluent in English & French.Career DevelopmentThe role presents a unique opportunity to engage with a complex, multi-entity international business environment, gaining exposure to a broad range of financial processes.
