About the RoleWe are seeking a meticulous and proactive Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This position plays a key role in managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliance, and financial reporting in accordance with the Employment Act 1955, Income Tax Act 1967, and other relevant Malaysian regulations. The role is ideal for a candidate with strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and a drive to maintain high financial governance standards in a dynamic engineering services environment.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Operations & Record ManagementMaintain accurate and timely financial records, ledgers, and documentation in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.Oversee data entry for invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries in the accounting system.Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.2. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)Prepare and process vendor invoices, payment vouchers, and staff claims.Reconcile supplier statements, monitor outstanding payables, and ensure timely payments.Track receivables, follow up with clients on billing and collections, and prepare ageing reports.3. Financial Reporting & AnalysisAssist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.Support financial analysis to identify variances and cost-saving opportunities.Liaise with auditors and tax agents to ensure accuracy and timely submission of reports.4. Statutory Compliance & Payroll SupportEnsure timely submission of EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, and SST in accordance with statutory deadlines.Maintain compliance with LHDN, KWSP, and PERKESO regulations.Support payroll verification and ensure alignment with statutory contributions and deductions.5. Budgeting & Internal ControlAssist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.Maintain financial controls to ensure accurate and transparent financial management.Support process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency.6. Audit & DocumentationPrepare audit schedules, liaise with external auditors, and provide supporting documentation.Ensure financial records are well-documented and retrievable for statutory and management purposes.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.Sound knowledge of accounting standards (MFRS) and statutory compliance in Malaysia.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP).Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and confidentiality in handling financial information.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
